Feature Request: Unlisted Notebooks

Similar to YouTube or other sites, it would be nice to be able to publish a notebook, but have it be “Unlisted” so you can share the link with specific people to view.

For example, I’m working on a specific project and using Observable to write some test D3 visualizations. I would like to send a link to my coworkers to view, but don’t want to publish the document.

We’ve got it!

In your notebook’s menu, click on “Share link”. This performs what is essentially an unlisted publish of your notebook, allowing your coworkers to view the version that you’ve just shared.

If you later update your notebook, and want your coworkers to see the new version, click “Share link” again.
