Unsure how to format key for bivariate choropleth

I’ve created a bivariate choropleth world map with Plot, based on Plot World Map / Observable | Observable and Plot: Bivariate choropleth / Observable | Observable

My notebook is here: Bivariate Choropleth: ASAN vs ASOL / Theo Honohan | Observable

One thing that’s not clear to me is how to adjust the position of the diamond-shaped key which explains the colour codes. There seem to be a lot of parameters, and I don’t know how to make it work with the equal-earth projection, which takes up more of the space on the chart than the map of the USA. What do I need to read to understand how to make space for and/or configure this part of the graphic?

Thanks

Theo

I would place it in the South Pacific, like so:

Also, I don’t think you need to use the dynamic width macro, since Plot already generates nicely responsive graphics. The use of width complicates the placement of the legend, in fact.

Thanks. That is a good solution!

The width macro came straight from Plot World Map / Observable | Observable, and I hadn’t noticed it.
