Math plugin for the forum

This forum is clearly powered by Discourse, which provides support for typesetting mathematics using the same tools as Observable via an official plugin. Seeing as how mathematical topics do arise occasionally, perhaps it would make sense to install the Discourse Math Plugin for the forum?

There is an extended discussion of the plugin in this Discourse Meta thread.

Afaik Observable uses the hosted version of Discourse and is limited to the plugins that come bundled with the Standard or Business tier.

However, the MathJax plugin is part of the standard plugins and should be available out of the box. So it probably just needs to be enabled?

I have enabled the Math plugin (using \KaTeX). Thanks for the tip!

If f(x) = e^{-x^2}, then

\int_{-\infty}^{\infty} f(x) \, dx = \sqrt{\pi}.

Hard to argue with that!
