My approach would be Extract minimum spanning tree (MST) Set halfway points on MST edges as 'attractors' Apply the d3.curveBundle to non-MST edges in the neighborhood of these attractors Not true hierarchical edge bundling, but possibly fitting for graphs that aren’t necessary hierarchical.

Yes, this is the best community detection representation I have come across. I loaded the data in Gephi as well and had some fun, but nothing like this :slight_smile: The research paper is quite interesting as well. There are other layouts you can use before applying edge bundling. What is DAG?

Sorry DAG is Directed acyclic graph. It’s tree-like except a node can have multiple parents
