Feature: RSS/ Atom feed for a notebook

Use case:

  1. Alice has a published notebook that she updates frequently.
  2. Bob has fallen in love with that notebook and wants to be notified about any changes it receives.
  3. Bob doesn’t care for any of Alice’s other notebooks, so he doesn’t want to subscribe to Alice’s main feed (also, Alice publishes a lot).
  4. Bob looks for other options, but finds none.
  5. With sadness in his eyes Bob exclaims: “I wish Observable would have a per-notebook RSS feed that includes all published updates”.

I agree with Bob.

  1. I’d love this feature
  2. Anyone using this feature on my notebooks would quickly start hating me, because I’m one of those types who republishes waaay to often. Like “spelling correction for three words, oops, found another typo, hitting republish again, for a total of ten times in one hour”-often

It wouldn’t need to be a feed of the changes per se. It could just be a feed with one item that changes the last modified date every time the notebook updates. I think feed readers might mark updated posts as unread?

In fact, we should be able to build this ourselves (either all versions of a notebook or one version) using Tom Larkworthy’s proxy thingy, and test this out.

A feed for notebook comments might be handy.
