As far as I can see it is not possible in the 2.0 interface to fork an unlisted or public document into a team workspace if that source document is not already in that workspace. Is that the case, or am I missing something?

Being able to fork into team workspaces is common requirement in a teaching context, so would be great to have this available. For new students I am currently having to do the forking myself via the 1.0 interface so I can avoid having to introduce 1.0 in students’ first week or so of exposure to Observable.

Our current plan is to implement transferring of notebooks first, so that you can transfer the forked notebook after creating it if you need it to live somewhere else.

We’ve also talked about having an interstitial where you are forced to choose where the notebook goes when you fork… but I’m hoping to avoid it as the interruption would add friction when the default is likely correct most of the time (and you can always transfer the notebook when it’s not).
