Wow, I had not thought about Wolfram in years and was shocked to click this link and then to continue clicking and learning more about the company’s products. Wild! Thank you for sharing 🙏 And hi hi Yuri! 👋

To echo a couple of Aaron’s points.

I too get a few seconds delay before my list of notebooks appears. I thought it might be related to number of notebooks in the workspace as it is pretty instant for my workspaces with less than a few hundred notebooks, but slow for one with 1200. However if I view the ‘public’ workspace, that is pretty instant.

I had forgotten to mention it previously, but I too would like to see cell-specific comments, although I realise this has interface cluttering implications. The main use case for me is to provide feedback on others’ (usually students) work that often needs reference to a specific cell or section of a notebook.

Fascinating… I have over ten thousand notebooks in my workspace and it loads almost instantly. We’ve made a variety of performance improvements over the last couple weeks and will continue to investigate.

Yes. I’ve been thinking about being able to link to top-level variable definitions somehow? That might provide a way to attach comments to more specific parts of the notebook.

> One possible source of confusion here is that the TypeScript cell does not _check_ types; it only strips them. This is handy for people moving between notebooks and a TypeScript environment, but it’s not actually giving you type safety in the notebook.

@tophtucker Are there future plans to include type checking? I would like it, but it’s certainly less critical than some of the other stuff y’all are working on, so no worries if not.

I am quite enjoying the new Observable, as I did the old — thank you all for the work you’re doing.

No plans right now; doesn’t seem like a high priority so far. But every vote counts! It’ll depend on user demand. (ValTown has [some nice writeups](https://blog.val.town/vtlsp) of how they’ve done it.)

In addition to the new Ctrl-m keyboard shortcut for opening the cell menu (while editing a cell), I’ve also tweaked the focus logic for the cell menu which I hope fixes this problem. Please let me know if you’re still seeing this!
