In my notebook, I have one image as a file attachment.

The notebook is embedded using runtime in the link below:

The cell using the file attachment shows
`Error: File not found: Screenshot_20260917_114728_Chrome.png`

How should I fix this?

Embeds are currently using the Old Observable API which means they cannot see files that were attached in the new editor (which now supports tracking file attachments in version history, renaming and replacing files, etc.). Likewise embeds currently cannot use new Observable features such as vanilla JavaScript cells and the new standard library.

We will be releasing a new API for runtime embeds in the near future (and similarly upgrading iframe embeds). You’ll have to stick with the old API until then, sorry!

Oh… and of course you’ll be able to download your notebooks in the new open file format and render static pages using Notebook Kit, and this is often the best choice for self-hosting copies of your notebooks. Downloads are likewise coming soon, but here is an interim solution by James King:

Re-uploaded the image using the old version, and now it works.
