I remember there was a way to embed the notebook into the message, but pasting notebook URL doesn’t do this… aaand, there is no control in the element bar.

Maybe it could be added?h

I guess you mean like this:

https://observablehq.com/embed/@abitrolly/long-sparkline?cells=sparkstream

That’s generated by pasting the `iframe` code into the forum editor. In this case, we’re talking about this code:

```
<iframe width="100%" height="102" frameborder="0"
  src="https://observablehq.com/embed/@abitrolly/longsparkline?cells=sparkstream"></iframe>
```

Typically, you get that code from the embed option in the notebook:

Thanks. Now I remember. 🤦‍♂️ 😃

But that’s still inconvenient. I wouldn’t have to ask if Discourse could be tuned to automatically expand Observable links into the `<iframe>`.

The Discourse part that expands links is called [`Onebox`](https://meta.discourse.org/t/create-rich-link-previews-with-onebox/98088) and there is even a plugin to do just that - [expand links to iframe](https://meta.discourse.org/t/custom-onebox-engine/54588).
